We are delighted to announce that Mando and USS (Universities Superannuation Scheme) have received an honorable mention in the Best Digital Experience Transformation category at the Sitecore Experience Awards 2021.
The SEAs recognise brands that have built truly customer-centric digital experiences with Sitecore® technology. They are awarded to Sitecore customers and their partners whose entries clearly demonstrate the business value they deliver and the commitment in pursuing ground-breaking customer experiences.
The entry was selected from more than 140 submissions and showcased a project that enabled 475,000 members to seamlessly self-serve on the Sitecore platform, hosted on Azure.
The Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) is one of the largest principal private pension schemes for universities & other higher education institution staff in the UK.
Established in 1974, USS provide retirement benefits to almost 475,000 members across 340 institutions in the higher education sector. Dedicated to providing the highest quality pension service to their members and their employers, USS manage and administer both the pension schemes and most investments in-house
“Since appointing Mando they have been a great digital partner – they have been true to their commitments and resolute in delivery of the programme. What they have implemented is far more than a couple of websites; they have contributed in a meaningful way to support some 460,000 USS members’ needs through their pensions journey”, said Piers Bishop, Chief Technology and Transformation Officer at USS.
Sitecore delivers a digital experience platform that empowers brands to build lifelong relationships with their customers, bringing together content, commerce, and data into one connected platform that delivers millions of digital experiences every day. With multiple, large, regulated industry-based implementations running on the Sitecore DXP, Mando has in-depth expertise of supporting business-critical applications in a regulated world.
In September 2019, we started working with USS to understand their business’ vision and how digital technology could help them achieve this. This enabled us to ensure we had clear alignment between our activities and their intended business outcomes.
After 12 months of design and build during a pandemic, the USS project has been a highlight with our team, keeping the customer at the heart of every decision. With over 190 User Stories, we made sure that every customer journey was accounted for, whether they were Active, Deferred, Pensioner or Flexi Pensioner - every need was catered for.
Our Project Manager, Kieron Trivedi really enjoyed working on the project and has said:
“This project challenged the team to problem solve in ways that they had never had to before, and the outcome led to one of the most transformative projects I have been involved in that really had the member at the heart of everything we did. We are really pleased to have our digital partnership recognised with this award and are pleased to have a long-lasting partnership with USS.”
The SEA’s selection process was rigorous. Each entry was judged by a panel consisting of the Sitecore leadership team from that entry’s region. There are three regions that were evaluated and approved based on specific selection and scoring criteria.
“We have some of the most innovative customers and partners in the world leveraging our platform to implement digital-first strategies that dramatically enhance the consumer experience,” said Lee Miles, Chief Customer Success Officer, Sitecore.
“They recognize that digital has become ingrained at every level of the customer experience. It is more than a key component for organizations that want to move beyond the status quo – it is absolutely essential to any brand that wants to make those experiences even more immersive and impactful. We are proud to honor their achievements with this year’s Sitecore Experience Awards.”
